Dr. Ana Ndumu is an Assistant Professor at the UMD College of Information Studies specializing in the cross between Black identity, information access, and demography. Her research explores the information worlds of Black diasporic immigrants--that is, Afro-Latinx, Afro-Caribbean, and African communities--living in the U.S. Her work draws attention to how U.S. immigration and information flows are shaped by a problematic history of race-making and disenfranchisement. Dr. Ndumu's premise is that inequities can be redressed through information justice.
